Your providers will need this number to submit claims on your behalf.
Coverage varies by plan. For full details on each tier, including availability, network types, coverage percentages, annual maximums and waiting periods, visit the Active Lifestyles plans page.
- Bright Plan: Diagnostic and preventive services, like cleanings and exams, plus basic dental services like fillings and simple extractions.
- Glow Plan: Diagnostic, preventive, basic and major dental services through an EPO network. Out-of-network care is not covered.
- Shine Plan: Diagnostic, preventive, basic and major services, including crowns and root canals.
- Radiate Plan: Diagnostic, preventive, basic and major services, plus orthodontia, with coverage and the annual maximum increasing across the first three plan years.
Active Lifestyles vision coverage is administered by VSP through the VSP Choice network, one of the largest networks of independent eye doctors in the country. Plans cover WellVision eye exams, prescription glasses (frames and lenses) and contact lenses. Two plan options are available, with the main difference being how often frames are covered.
For copays, allowances, frequency details and out-of-network coverage, log in to the VSP member portal or visit the Active Lifestyles plans page.
The benefit period maximum is the highest dollar amount Renaissance will pay for covered dental services during your benefit period. Once you reach the benefit period maximum, no further payments will be made by Renaissance until the next benefit period begins.
The annual maximum benefit is the highest amount your dental plan will pay for covered services in a plan year. Once you reach this limit, you are responsible for any additional costs for the rest of the year. The annual maximum varies by plan. For the specific maximum that applies to your Active Lifestyles plan, visit the Active Lifestyles plans page or refer to your policy documents.
There are no waiting periods for diagnostic and preventive services. Some basic and major services may have a waiting period, depending on the plan. Refer to your policy documents for the specifics that apply to your coverage.
You can visit any licensed dental or vision provider, and you’ll save the most by choosing one in our network. Use our provider search tools to check whether your preferred provider is in network:
Our hearing discount program helps you save on hearing aids and related services to help you maintain your hearing health. You’ll have access to significant discounts through our partner Amplifon, including a 60-day risk-free trial, follow-up visits to fine-tune your devices, a two-year supply of batteries or a charging station, and a three-year warranty for loss, repairs or damage. Discounts vary by provider and services received, and the program does not make payments to providers — members pay for services and receive a discount from participating providers.

Understanding Your Renaissance Benefits
Ancillary benefits like dental, vision, life, disability and supplemental health insurance are designed to complement primary medical coverage, but they are not dependent on having a specific medical plan. You can enroll in ancillary coverage alongside your medical insurance or, in many cases, access ancillary benefits even if you don’t have primary medical coverage through the same carrier. Supplemental health insurance adds an extra layer of financial protection by paying cash benefits when a covered illness, injury or condition occurs, helping you manage out-of-pocket costs that your primary medical plan may not fully cover.
Dental and vision coverage are usually offered as separate plans from health insurance. Most major medical plans cover dental or vision care only when medically necessary, like oral surgery after an accident or treatment for an eye injury. Routine care like cleanings, exams, glasses and contacts is not covered. A dedicated dental or vision plan from Renaissance covers the routine care that most health plans do not include and helps you access regular preventive services.
Group plans are offered through an employer or organization. The employer often pays part or all of the premium, sets the coverage details and eligibility rules, and members enroll during the company’s annual benefits enrollment window.
Individual and family plans, like our Renaissance Active Lifestyles plans, are customized dental and vision insurance with a hearing discount program for every stage of life, purchased directly from Renaissance. Members select their own plan, pay the full premium themselves, and can enroll at any time.
An Explanation of Benefits (EOB) is a statement Renaissance sends after processing a claim. It shows the services you received, the amount Renaissance paid, any network discounts applied and what you may owe the provider. An EOB is not a bill.
A benefits summary, sometimes called a Summary of Benefits and Coverage, is a high-level overview of what your plan covers, including premiums, deductibles, copays, annual maximums and any waiting periods. Both documents are available in your member portal.
- Employer-sponsored plan members log in to MyRenBenefitsManager.
- Active Lifestyles dental plan members log in to the RenMemberPortal.
- Active Lifestyles vision plan members access plan and claim information through the VSP member portal.
