We’ve got a variety of resources for you to review to help you outline the value of Renaissance:

Renaissance is the ancillary and supplemental benefits carrier for brokers, employers, individual consumers and providers who expect more than cookie-cutter plans, outdated technology and inaccessible service. In a market crowded with look-alike plans and one-size-fits-all platforms, we deliver a modern infrastructure that helps streamline everything from quoting and enrollment to administration and claims. Our systems reduce manual effort and simplify claims workflows while real people stay accountable to support at every critical decision point. We’re built to remove friction — not create it — with benefits designed to pay and service designed to show up.

Renaissance combines leading regional and national dental networks to provide over 450,000 dental access points across the country.

Here are a few key positioning statements to help you outline the Active Lifestyles plans:

  • Two simple add-ons that protect health + budget: affordable dental and vision coverage that helps members stay on top of preventive care.
  • Dental: preventive and diagnostic services have no waiting periods.
  • Choice and savings: large dental network; members generally save most in-network, but can see any licensed dentist.
  • Vision through VSP: access to a large provider network and an allowance for frames or contacts (plan dependent).
  • Great fit for: people between jobs, self-employed, retirees/Medicare-eligible, families wanting predictable costs.

Here are some specific insights you can use to highlight the benefits of each of the Active Lifestyles plans:

Bright (Essentials / lowest cost) — Single coverage typically in the \$20s.

  • Best for: younger callers, first-time buyers, or anyone who wants the lowest premium and primarily needs cleanings/exams.
  • How to position: “Great basic coverage for preventive care and the most common small fixes.”
  • Key coverage theme: preventive + diagnostic + limited/basic services (more limited than other options).
  • Expectation to set: not designed for bigger procedures (crowns/implants, etc.).

Glow (EPO / PPO-only network where available) — Single coverage typically in the \$30s.

  • Best for: callers who are comfortable using in-network dentists (often someone without a current dentist or willing to switch).
  • How to position: “Strong value if you stay in-network—solid coverage at a mid-level premium.”
  • Key feature: No out-of-network coverage (EPO style).
  • Important note: waiting periods apply for some Basic/Major services (Class II/III).

Shine (High plan / most popular) — Single coverage typically in the \$40s.

  • Best for: callers who want a balance of premium and benefits and may need more than just cleanings.
  • How to position: “Our go-to option for broader coverage—great for ongoing dental needs.”
  • Big feature: largest annual maximum—\$2,000 per member per year.
  • Key coverage theme: includes coverage for Basic and Major services (subject to waiting periods).
  • Expectation to set: if the caller expects work soon (crowns, root canals, etc.), discuss waiting periods and/or consider Radiate.

Radiate (Graduated / no waiting periods + orthodontia) — Single coverage typically in the \$40s.

  • Best for: callers who want access to all covered services day one (no waiting periods) or who need orthodontia for children.
  • How to position: “You can use benefits right away; the plan grows over time.”
  • Key feature: no waiting periods across services.
  • Plan design note: graduated benefits for some Basic/Major services (higher reimbursement in years 2–3 than year 1).
  • Orthodontia: includes orthodontia for children (plan maximum applies).

Our partnership with VSP means you can bundle your dental coverage with a leading vision coverage option:

High option — bundled rates as low as \$10.96 PMPM (when bundled with dental).

  • Best for: people who want to refresh eyewear more often or expect regular changes in prescription.
  • Talking point: annual access for exam + lenses + frames (per sell sheet).
  • Positioning: “Great value if you buy glasses most years.”

Low option — bundled rates as low as \$7.67 PMPM (when bundled with dental).

  • Best for: budget shoppers and people who mainly want routine exams/lenses but don’t replace frames as often.
  • Talking point: annual exam + lenses; frames every 2 years (per sell sheet).

Positioning: “Low monthly cost—still keeps you on track for eye exams.”

Here’s a helpful list of typical callers and how you might match plans to their needs:

Caller profile / situation What they usually care about Best starting recommendation Agent phrasing
Young / healthy / “just want something affordable” Lowest monthly cost, cleanings/exams Bright + (optional) Low vision “If you mainly want preventive care and a low premium, Bright is built for that.”
No current dentist / willing to use network Strong value in-network Glow (EPO) “Glow is a great fit if you’re comfortable choosing a dentist in the PPO network.”
Family / ongoing dental needs Broader coverage (fillings + bigger services over time) Shine + vision as needed “Shine is our most popular option because it balances cost and coverage—and it has our highest annual maximum (\$2,000 per member per year).”
Needs work soon / dislikes waiting periods Access day one Radiate “Radiate has no waiting periods; benefits are available right away.”
Kids may need braces Orthodontia option Radiate “Radiate is the option that includes orthodontia coverage for children.”
Wears glasses/contacts and replaces often Frame/lens frequency High vision “High vision is best if you expect to buy glasses most years.”
Wants vision primarily for exams / occasional glasses Budget + routine care Low vision “Low vision keeps the monthly cost down and still covers annual exams.”

These discovery questions might help you narrow in regarding what plan type the customer may need:

  • “Do you have a dentist/eye doctor you want to keep, or are you flexible?”
  • “Are you mainly looking for cleanings/exams, or do you anticipate fillings/crowns/dentures?”
  • “Do you want coverage you can use right away, or are you okay with waiting periods for certain services?”
  • “Is this for you only, or do you need family coverage—any children who may need braces?”
  • “Do you buy glasses/contacts every year, or more like every other year?”
  • “What monthly budget range feels comfortable?”

Have these definitions ready to help customers navigate the plan options:

  • In-network vs. out-of-network (dental): members typically save the most by using a participating PPO dentist; they can still see any licensed dentist, but out-of-pocket costs may be higher.
  • MAC (Maximum Allowable Charge): for plans labeled “MAC,” out-of-network claims are reimbursed based on the plan’s set fee schedule; if the dentist bills more than that allowed amount, the member may owe the difference.
  • EPO (Glow): coverage applies in-network only—no out-of-network benefits—so confirming network access is important.
  • Waiting periods: some services (often Basic/Major) may require the member to be enrolled for a set time before coverage applies; Radiate is designed for day-one access.

Customers might ask some good questions – be ready to outline how Active Lifestyles can work for them:

  • “Can I keep my dentist?” Yes—members can visit any licensed dentist, but they usually save the most in-network. If keeping a specific dentist is important, we can help them check network participation and set expectations for out-of-network costs (if applicable).
  • “I need work done soon—will this help right away?” If they want benefits available day one, position Radiate (no waiting periods). For other plans, confirm whether waiting periods apply to the services they expect.
  • “Why would I bundle vision?” Many people save versus paying retail for exams and eyewear; bundling can keep the monthly cost low and makes it easy to manage benefits in one place.
  • “Is vision only worth it if I wear glasses?” Even without glasses, annual eye exams support overall health and can catch issues early; then the member has coverage if they do need eyewear later.
  • “What’s the difference between High vs Low vision?” High is better if they replace frames more often; Low is best for budget and less frequent frame purchases.
